Throckley Exit In Cup Thriller

After 70 hard-fought minutes only a goal in the 68th could separate these two battling sides. In a first half that saw throckley looking quite jaded, Morpeth went ahead with a well struck effort by Jay Clarke . It seemed they would go into the break up until the ball broke to Ben Shanks at the edge of the 18 yard box and his thunderous strike drew Throckley level. Throckley were more energetic in the second half with tackles flying in from alll over the pitch. however they did concede first again with Daniel Potter putting Morpeth back in front. But minutes later a bullet effort by Daniel Hadfield drew Throckley level once more. With time running out both sides had chances to win it but no one could so extra time had to be played. The first half went with out much incident and with both managers pondering their penalty takers when Jay Clarke popped up to score his second of the game and the winner. So congratulations to FC morpeth and all the best in the rest of the cup
